Fresh off its public debut at IFA 2026 last week, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has now officially launched in China marking Xiaomi’s first-ever wide-format foldable phone.

Display: Big Screen, Big Numbers

Up front, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has a 5.38-inch cover screen with a 1712 x 1168 resolution. Unfold it, and you get a spacious 7.58-inch main display running at 2364 x 1672.

That inner screen sticks to a 2:1 aspect ratio and comes with an anti-reflective coating. Both displays inner and outer support a 1-120Hz refresh rate and can hit a seriously bright 4,000 nits at peak brightness.

Xiaomi says the main screen uses a dual-layer ultra-thin glass (UTG) structure, which the company claims makes it 178% more durable and 29% better at resisting impact compared to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4.

Under the Hood: A Homegrown Chip With Big Benchmark Claims

Running the show is Xiaomi’s own XRing O3 chipset. The Chinese tech giant claims this is the first flagship AI chip to score above 5 million points on AnTuTu a bold claim, to say the least.

That chip is paired with LPDDR6 RAM from Changxin Memory (CXMT), maxing out at 16GB, plus internal storage options going up to 1TB, according to Android Authority (Tuesday, September 8, 2026).

Cameras: Leica Tuning, As Usual

Like most of Xiaomi’s recent flagships, the 18 Fold comes with Leica-tuned optics. On the back, you’ll find a triple-camera setup: a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide.

Battery and Charging

Powering the phone is a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery paired with 67W fast charging, plus support for 50W wireless charging.

Built to Survive

On the durability front, the Xiaomi 18 Fold uses Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 on both the back panel and cover screen, backed by IP58/IP59 water and dust resistance ratings. It also features a “Dragon Bone” hinge mechanism and an aluminum alloy frame. Xiaomi says the phone has been put through 492 rounds of durability testing.

There’s also a Ceramic Special Edition variant, which swaps in a silicon nitride ceramic panel that’s both lighter and stronger than the standard version.

Design and Extra Features

Design-wise, the Xiaomi 18 Fold weighs 219 grams and measures 10.68mm thick when folded. It comes in three colorways: Black, Warm Gold White, and Nishino Red.

Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, UWB, and an IR blaster.

Price and Availability

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is now available for pre-order in China, with first sales set to open on September 10. It’s still unclear whether this wide-screen foldable will make its way beyond China. Here’s the full China pricing lineup:

12GB + 256GB: 10,999 yuan (~Rp28.9 million)
12GB + 512GB: 11,999 yuan (~Rp31.5 million)

16GB + 1TB: 14,999 yuan (~Rp39 million)
